As you can see, the website looks different and there are some new things showcased here on the site now. I just quickly want to tell you about them all.

Blog of the Week (Sidebar)
I think there are a lot of great blogs out there that never get found out about and so with that being said I created a section in my side bar to the right that will showcase a new blog each week. I encourage you to visit the blog and if it’s a blog you find interesting then bookmark it for follow-up.

Recommended Books (Top menu)
Over the last year or so I have become an avid reader. I am always reading something and wanted a section on the site where I can post some information about books that I think are awesome and are great reads for those in leadership.

Social Network Info (Sidebar)
This is simply a list of the social networks that I proudly visit often and have profiles on. Feel free to add me as a friend or acquaintance.

Popular Posts (Sidebar)
This section will display the Top Ten Most Popular Posts ever on this blog.

Comments (Sidebar)
This section will display the 5 most recent comments posted on the blog.

Tags (Sidebar)
This is basically a tag cloud of tags I have assigned to each post. Click on a word to read the post(s) that were tags with that word.

Let me know what you think!

I just wanted to let you all know that I haven’t forgotten about you. Some of you may or may not know I have been going through some medical issues as of late. Here is an update:

BP still high … working on getting down
Liver enzymes high … could be caused by medication though.
Lost 19 pounds in like 3 weeks which is awesome.
All other labs and tests are good. Cardiograph was excellent!

Although all is well … I have had to “rethink” my daily way of living. I am not 15 anymore. I have a small oral surgery on Friday and then my life is going back into full gear (well … after the swelling and the pain goes away). Its interesting how satan throws so much “negativity” into our minds and to be honest sometimes makes it sound like “it’s over” when it’s far from over.

One thing I know … my life is a HUGE testimony and I am so excited that He called and chose me.

One other note, due to these unforeseen circumstances I will not be able to attend the Napkin Conference later this month. I apologize … I am sooooo going to miss it. I was really looking forward to chilling with my peeps from Hillsong Kids especially. Hopefully I will get to Australia later this year.

Love you all in Christ,
Nate

I love following Pastor Brian Houston on Twitter because he always pushes me to be a better leader. Over the last several weeks (actually probably months now) he has been posting “Leadership Goals”. I think they are awesome and so I wanted to share a couple with you. I hope these bless you as much as they have blessed me.

Leadership Goal: To be slower to JUDGE motives, but quicker to DISCERN hearts! Heart issues can MAKE or BREAK a team!

Leadership Goal: Not a culture of OPINION which we FORCE on others, but a culture of COUNSEL which is INVITED by others!

Leadership Goal: Surrounded by leaders who are WISE enough to say NO, but COURAGEOUS enough when they need to say YES.

Leadership Goal: To inspire a crowd with MANY interests, giftings & loves.. to forcefully unite around a SINGLE cause!

Leadership Goal: To enter 2010 with a FRESH approach to pursuing the SAME vision, filled with FAITH for radical progress!

Leadership Goal: A spirit, un-tainted by offense, bitterness, hurt, or regret. A life-long commitment to a FREE spirit!

Leadership Goal: To have a team who say NO to gifts, contacts & favours that have strings attached, & NO to borrowing!

Leadership Goal: Remember that the greatest heights of leadership wisdom are entirely inferior to the power of prayer!

Leadership Goal: To bring CLARITY, not confusion, DIRECTION where there is distraction & FOCUS when things are fogged!

Leadership Goal: FOR our focus, direction & purpose to be clearer to every person in a room, than it was when I walked in.

Leadership Goal: To be a leader who can admit mistakes, show vulnerability, be self-effacing, yet be quietly confident!

If you are a leader you should be following Pastor Brian on Twitter. Click here to find his page and then select “Follow”. Also, if you aren’t following me … well … do the same “here“.

In my last post I shared with you that this was a decade of change. As I was sitting at work on Wednesday I thought … I should launch a new theme on my blog to mark the “Decade of Change”. Everything else is changing in my life … why not my blog.

Never-the-less, this is it! I have gone green. I really like this template cause it’s professional, earthy and yet … fun. As you can see … it’s a drastic change from the old theme.

The theme isn’t the only change that you will see here on the site. I spend a lot of time in the Word. Whether it’s reading the Word of God or listening to a message online or via a podcast, the Word is constantly flowing. With that in mind I am going to be posting my notes from messages I have heard or from my own personal study time. Maybe things I have learned or things I have known but want to share. To me, this is an avenue for me to share the Word with others. It’s a way to get the Word out. ((it’s also a great way to store my notes online)). LOL

Also, as some of you may or may not have noticed. I have become a bookworm. I read all the time and recently was accepted by Thomas Nelson Publishing to be a reviewer for their new releases. I am really excited about this. I am expecting my first book to arrive anytime. I am sure you will hear about it when it get’s here. If you are a publisher and want me to read and review your book … let me know. I would be more than happy to do so.

Never –the—less, it’s getting late and I am super tired. Tomorrow I will be launching a contest here on the site as well. You will want to check it out. It’s not a huge contest but I am sure that whoever wins will be appreciative.

So to my American friends “Good Night” and to my Australian buds “Good Morning”.

Who, what and why do I? Over the last few months I have really done a lot of deep thinking. Thinking about who I share personal information with, who I look up to as role models, the kinda people I choose hang around with, what I do with my time and why? Trust me. You can maybe sit down and answer these questions in just a few moments but I think that after you write everything down you will wonder why you do trust certain people, why you look up to certain people, and why you do certain things.

I have been through all the Covey classes and have found some interesting things out about me through those classes but I think I am finding more out about me by just sitting and examining my life. Examining the decisions made in the past and making even better decisions in the future.

With this, I have decided to share some very basic information about who I follow online and offline (aka who I stalk) and why? What I like read and why? And what podcasts I choose to listen to online and why?

Now I know, some of you are like … “WHY? Why are you sharing this?” but I guarantee you that if you take the time to read this next short series of posts that you will not only find new people to network with and follow (aka stalk), new books/blogs to read that may just change your life forever, and podcasts that will encourage you and show you how to handle certain things.

This is going to be a series that you won’t want to miss so if you aren’t subscribed to my blog updates via email or RSS then I encourage you to do so right now! Click here to sign up via email.
