Updates ….

As you all can see I haven’t posted much lately … been super busy so I wanted to quickly post some updates to keep you all in the loop as to what is going on in my life.

  1. Moving – I am actually moving later today. I am really excited about moving. I love the adventure of moving to a new city. It’s like a treasure hunt. You get to scope out the city and find out what the city really has to offer. The best part of it all is that I am moving far enough away from family to have my distance but yet close enough to visit often. LOVE IT!!
  2. New Phone – (and number) – As many of you know my phone number changed a couple weeks ago. It’s because I got new service and got a new phone. However, that phone … wasn’t the best and so it’s going back to the store (on its way now) and I am upgrading to a blackberry. Never thought I would ever get a blackberry but after visiting the Sprint store the other day and checking it out … I wonder why I didn’t switch to a blackberry a long time ago.
  3. Personal changes – I am actually reading an awesome book called “Boundaries”. The book is rocking my world almost as much as “The Approval Addiction” did. Its really allowing me to create boundaries in my life and develop right friendship/relationships with people.  It’s a book I recommend every melancholy and phlegmatic person to read.
  4. Ministry Update – I recently received sponsorship to start working the ministry God has given me. I am really excited about what God has planned. In February I will be traveling to Las Vegas to attend the Napkin Conference. Really excited about it!! Hoping to meet many of you fellow children’s ministers there.. Including all my mates from Australia!! If you are children’s minister in the state of Wisconsin please post a comment to this entry letting me know so that I can let you know of some awesome things that are going to be launching in January of 2010 here in Wisconsin.
  5. Peeps – Just wanted to give a big shout out to my mates in Australia and my peeps in Brazil. You all have been on my site a lot lately. I appreciate you guys a lot. Hoping to see several of you in Feb at the Napkin Conference. Also, want to send a quick shout out to my friend Henry in Africa!! Keep up the awesome work over there man. Been praying hard for you brother.

There is one other large announcement coming soon … but can’t share it with you yet. Don’t you love it when people do that … they tell you they have a secret but then tell you that they aren’t going to share it with you yet? I hate that …. But love doing it to other people. LOL

Anyways … if you aren’t following me on twitter (http://www.twitter.com/nfietzer ) or if you haven’t befriended me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/kidmin ) I encourage you to do so. Those are the only two places where you can get daily (sometimes hourly) updates from me. (Was there a subliminal message therel?)

Ok … so I am about to end this post …. Ready ……….. THE END!

30 Days of Qeptember – End?

I haven’t received any new questions for the 30 Days of Qeptember so unfortunately until questions are submitted there will not be any more “30 Days of Qeptember” posts. You will just have to listen to my ramblings. LOL If you have something you want to ask please click here to find out how to submit your question.

He will fight for you …

I have seen this acted out before as well as have seen this video many times and every time I watch it it gets me. If you go after Him … He will fight for you.

30 Days of Qeptember – Question #5

Today is September 5th which means it’s the fifth day of my 30 day series called “30 Days of Qeptember”. If you want to know what the 30 Days of Qeptember is please click here.

I didn’t have any questions submitted for today so I decided to come up with my own question:

What’s your thoughts on denominations?

That’s an awesome question if I might say so myself however I am going to keep this short as really there isn’t much to say.

I believe denomination is a term used to be stumbling block for the Church. I really do. I don’t like that word at all and it’s not biblical.

Webster’s Dictionary defines “Denomination” as the following:

name, designation; especially: a general name for a category; a religious organization uniting local congregations in a single legal and administrative body.

I like what Ethan Longhenry of Associated Content said back in July of 2007. “The dictionary gives us the first, and preeminent, definition of a denomination: a group of congregations that are bound together in a religious organization with an administrative body. When we read about the church in the New Testament, do we see such an organization? By no means! The elders of the church in Ephesus were told to shepherd their flock, not the flock of any other church (cf. Acts 20Open Link in New Window). While there was certainly kinship felt amongst members of different local congregations (e.g., Philippi and Thessalonica), there is no evidence that any group of congregations were legislated by some earthly head or administration. Therefore, even according to the dictionary definition of the term “denomination,” the Church that the Lord established is not a denomination.”

I think that sums it up. Really, I mean, what denomination was Jesus? HAHA! Exactly so why are we “Christians” so stuck on denomination. We should be unifying ourselves as one body. We are are “The Body of Christ” so why in our legalistic world are we trying to be “Separate Bodies”.

When you work as a team that doesn’t mean that you agree with all the other members of the team. Sometimes you have different ideas or thoughts. So what stops the “Church” from coming together and working as a team?

It frustrates me when I see religious people choosing to not connect with others in other denominations. Makes me want to go get a fish and slap them in the face a couple times. We have to pull together folks. We have a WORLD to reach!!

Ask yourself, do you tend to keep to your own church friends or do you reach out to those from other “denominations”.

Last Note: (Don’t worry it’s free) take the “n” and the “m” in denominations and switch them. Then it becomes Demonination. No, I am not getting “Spooky” on ya … just every time I see the word denominations for some reason I see demon. Take it for what it’s worth.

30 Days of Qeptember – Question #4

Today is September 4th which means it’s the fourth day of my 30 day series called “30 Days of Qeptember”. If you want to know what the 30 Days of Qeptember is please click here.

Todays question comes from someone who claims to have known me years ago (although I don’t remember him). His question is:

You use to live a very disciplined life. Why don’t you live by those standards anymore?

You are right. From age 9 to the age of 24 I attended a church or denomination in which placed a large number of restrictions on their members. It wasn’t that they forced the restrictions on them but yet they preached about those restrictions a lot and made you feel bad or “left” out if you didn’t follow them.

To be honest, looking back at that time in my life … there were lots of good memories and I learned a lot of self control however I also see that I missed out on so much.

I was part of a church//denomination that pretty much made me live like an amish person. Couldn’t wear shorts, couldn’t tan, sleeveless shirts, swim without a shirt on, etc. Women couldn’t wear pants, couldn’t wear make up, couldn’t wear jewelery, couldn’t even cut their hair.

When I first left the denomination I was really upset. Yeah some of the anger was at the pastor for teaching his man made ideals and enforcing them and was upset because I was exiled from peoples lives after I left but more so I was upset because I wasn’t a student of the Word. I was a student of some preacher not of the Word.

That’s when I really changed my life around and became a student of the Word. I studied to show myself approved of God. I had to find out what was God and what was man. When the Word says the truth will set you free …. that’s what it means.

Every day now I am growing in new understanding of the Word and I am so thankful for that. I am also thankful that I have the opportunity to help those coming out of this “denomination” grab hold of freedom and really experience God like they have never experienced before.

With that being said, you must always be in your Word. Don’t just believe everything a preacher says. There are preachers out there that are still teaching their man made “religious” ideals. You have to know what’s TRUTH. You have to know what God expects.

Have you ever taken a step that changed your life forever?

30 Days of Qeptember – Question #3

Today is September 3rd which means it’s the third day of my 30 day series called “30 Days of Qeptember”. If you want to know what the 30 Days of Qeptember is please click here.

Todays question comes from a friend via Twitter. His question is:

What do you think about the upcoming “Dooms Day” prophecies/predictions?

WOW! That’s loaded!! I am assuming that you are talking about the 09-09-09 prediction and the 12-21-12 prediction. To be honest, I don’t bother with them. I sometimes wonder where these predictions or prophecies come from. God said that no man shall know the day of His return so why do we try to guess it?

All I am saying that on Jan 1st of 2000 I was prepared for the world to end. Had everything needed to protect myself from fall out as well as a bunch of food and batteries stored up. I really only prepared myself for that event because of the Biblical significance with the 2000 year milestone of Christs death though.

I have heard that 09-09-09 is the day that the rapture take place evil will reign because if you flip the date upside down it is 60-60-60. I blame this on the economy. I really do. Clearly unemployment is so low that people have enough time to sit home on the couch and come up with this stuff. I mean come on really. That’s a far stretch.

I also have heard of the 12-21-12 prophecy. If I understand it correctly this is the date that the Mayans believe is the end of a evolutionary cycle. Hollywood is all over this date. As a matter of fact, there is a movie set to be released called “2012″ in November of 2009. It’s being reported that the movie will be huge not only because of the prophecy but also because Adam Lambert will be debuting his first song in the movie.

The movie sounds interesting to be honest but will the world end on 12-21-12 … No, I don’t think so. Once again … No man knows the day nor the hour when the Son of Man will return.

Below are some posters though that I have found of the 2012 movie coming out. Kinda reminds me of “The Day After Tomorrow”.

Do you believe all the hype? Do you believe that catastrophic things are going to happen on either of these dates? Have you heard of any other prophecies or predictions?

30 Days of Qeptember – Question #2

Today is September 2nd which means it’s the second day of my 30 day series called “30 Days of Qeptember”. If you want to know what the 30 Days of Qeptember is please click here.

Todays question comes from a good friend of mine who is from a church I use to serve at years ago in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Her question is:

Who are your biggest role models?

Wow! That’s a loaded question because over the last year or two my role models have been revamped. Meaning, I have removed the curve.

There are three people that I would consider my role models though and they are as follows.

David Wakerley >> He is an awesome man of God currently serving as the City Pastor at Hillsongs Church in Australia! I enjoy his passion for ministry and his vision to reach the world.

Jim Wideman >> He is also an awesome man of God. Probably one of the most well known ministers in the Children’s Ministry World. He is always sharing his God given wisdom. Looking forward to hopefully participating in his Infuse ministry soon.

Pastors Melva and Skip Henderson >> There are my former pastors from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have never met anyone with the heart that they have for people and the heart they have to see God’s Will done in our country. These two people made such a huge impact on my life … I am forever grateful.

Does that answer the question? I hope so. Who are you role models? Please share below

Those would be the top three role models in my life.
