After hearing how World Vision changes the lives of the child but the entire family, I felt compelled to help. We've looped the family in and consider Maria apart of our family. She shares a birthday with my son and hope to adopt another child soon. It's been a simple way for us to give and include our kids in the process. It's such a small sacrifice on my family's part - but it's a HUGE impact for this little girl and her family. I told them I wanted to sponsor someone and they never got back to me. It was just really unnecessarily difficult. I have sponsored a girl from Brazil through World Vision for the past five years. World Vision is good. They send sticker books and calendars for you to sign and write a note to your kid. I really like WV. Oh and don't beat yourself up for not sponsoring sooner. I used to teach in the DR for 4 years and have a heart for the children there, so it's awesome to be able to support Regina in her schooling and in other ways. A couple times a year, I get a "thank you" from her ... a hand-print dipped in paint slapped onto a card with a picture of her! I love it!
