30 Days of Qeptember

I love interaction and as you can see … I lost all my old comments and well … there hasn’t been much interaction lately here on my blog so with that being said I am launching “The 30 Days of Qeptember”.

Each day throughout the month of September I will answer one question from you all. The question can be serious like “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” or funny like “Have you ever wore the same socks for a week?” (guess that could be a serious question as well).

So how do you submit your questions?

You can choose one of two different ways to submit your question.

1. By asking in the comment form below this post.
2. By asking on Twitter via DM or a “@” reply. (Twitter SN is “nfietzer“)

If I choose to answer you question I will not only contact you and let you know the answer but I will also post the answer on my blog and send a tweet informing the world of the answer.

Simply as peas! By the way, did you know Peas are the oldest known veggie?

Anyways, so ask a way. I will choose one question each day to answer. Looking forward to find out what you all want to know about me.
**I have the right to choose any of the questions submitted. I am sure that more than 30 questions will be submitted so please do not get discouraged if your question is not answered during this time.**

Are You A World Changer?

God has really been pushing this whole “World Changer” mentality over the last 24 hours. He keeps prodding me in ways I can change peoples lives. One of those ways I feel is by sponsoring a child. I have never done this before and am rather ashamed to admit that, considering I am a childrens minister.

Do you sponsor a child? If so, who (what organization) are you going through to sponsor that child?

What other ways are you changing your world?

Prayer: Four Ways God Responds To Our Prayers

Over the last few weeks Pastor Kevin Bradford has been teaching on the Essentials of James. He has really been going through the book of James and talking to us about the essentials of life. The book of James is quickly becoming one of my favorite books in the bible (next to 1st & 2nd Timothy) because of the direction that it gives us.

This past weekend I spent four to five days away from common technologies such as twitter, email, phone calls, etc. It was a weekend or a period of time for me to really seek God about some things that I needed answers on in my life. Some HUGE things and some small things.

During this time I was taken to James chapter 4 many times and found it interesting that every time I was taken there I was giving the same information. God was pushing it into me every way He could. James chapter 4 tells us about answered and unanswered prayers. It says we have not because we do not ask and then it also says that we ask but we don’t receive.

I have learnt that there is basically four ways that God responds or answers our prayers.

    1. Direct – Either it’s a Yes or a No
    2. Different – Something better than what we asked for.
    3. Delayed – It might not be time for you to have that answer yet.
    4. Denied – God refused to answer because you either aren’t asking correctly or you are in the right place to hear the answer.

Sometimes the answer is denied because we aren’t in the Will of God, sometimes it’s because we aren’t in obedience with the Word of God, sometimes it’s cause we don’t pray in faith, in His Name, or in the Spirit. This weekend I really had to learn how to pray out some things.

The situations or questions I had needed to go through an evaluation. I had to make sure that I was praying right and was in the right place to get an answer.

Have you ever prayed for an answer and not gotten it? How has God answered your prayers? Have you experienced a season of silence? What did you learn from that time?

Side Nugget: If you don’t get an answer from God through prayer maybe your answer is written in the Word. Study the Word. It’s the blueprint for life.

Family Time

One thing I have found out about myself is that I am truly and avid reader however I don’t enjoy reading books. Blogs are my cup of tea. I am currently following close to 75 different blogs which is funny because I can barely keep up with 2 books at once.

None the less, yesterday Holly Furtick posted an awesome blog post that I really want to point out to you all. It’s a blog post containing a video. Pastor Steven Furtick is playing the guitar on the couch while their kids sing the song with him. It’s a great video. It really shows and proves that there are still some families that spend time together.

My dream (or shall I say goal) is to have a family that is close and that enjoys just chilling and spending time like this together as a family. Talk about training up a child.

I encourage you to visit her blog and view the video. (Click Here)

Cloud Ships? Reality!

We truly are living in the 21st century when we are talking about creating “Cloud Ships”. I was astonished to read about these quote cloud ships in the news. I feel like I am part of a sci-fi movie now.

“Cloud Ships” are unmanned ships with giant funnels on them which travel the world’s seas creating clouds which would deflect the sun’s rays and could help cut global warming. They are considering creating 1,900 of these ships to sail the worlds sea’s. Crazy idea but it might just work.

Watch this video. It’s very very interesting and they show the actual ship in the video.

Just thought it was crazy. Jetsons … here we come!!

Yours is the Kingdom

Was just sitting here thinking about how good God is and how He is everything to me when this song came across Twitter via Bill Seybolt. Perfect timing! I love this song so I thought I would share it.
