It’s Not Your Job
We know that every day we make history but today was a day that will forever be documented in the history books. Today, Barack H. Obama became the first African American male to be sworn in as the President of the United States of America. To be alive and witnessing this event was powerful. It was moving.
Today’s events really showed how much our country has changed over the last 40-50 years. If you looked into the crowds gathered you didn’t just see an audience of “white” or “black”. Instead you seen an audience that was extremely diverse coming together to support one man with an ethnic background to the highest office in our country.
As I enjoyed the historical events today I kept a keen eye on the the social networks and was shocked to see that there seemed to be a few key “groups” of people posting and starting huge arguments in cyberspace. It seemed to be The Haters (those who are upset that President Obama is now in office) and The Idolizers (those who think President Obama is a god).
These two groups of people seemed to be in a constant battle today … from Facebook to Twitter and even MySpace these people engaged in long drawn out cyberwars about the man rather than the day.
To be honest I am rather embarrassed and harassed by these people. I want to send a clear message to all of those involved in these arguments … “IT’S NOT YOUR JOB”.
It’s not your job to sit and complain about President Obama being your President. It’s your job to pray for him. The Word of God instructs us to do so.
So just stop it … Do you not remember that the heart of the king is in God’s hand? Do you not believe that God can run this country through President Obama? Where is your faith? Where is the Word in your life?
To those who are treating President Obama as an idol! STOP!! This is still the United States of America not the United States of Obama. Obama isn’t your daddy. We still trust in God and stand UNITED under God. There are stories upon stories in the Word of God that talk about idols and none of them stood firm. None of them provided for the people. I speak faith over President Obama that he will stand firm and that He will provide for the people through God.
We gotta stop folks. We are suppose to be Christians. We are suppose to be living the Word. Stop judging and idolizing the man and start praying for him. The world will most likely not end tomorrow so stop fretting. Get Right, Be Right and Live Right!
Yeah, I will admit, I didn’t vote for President Obama. I don’t agree with a lot of what he stands for but the American people voted and he was the winner. He is our President now and according to the Word of God I have to respect him and pray for him! Won’t you join me?
Over the next 100 days President Obama will set the stage for his presidency. These are vital times for President Obama and for our country. The Presidential Prayer Team is leading the nation in lifting up the Obama administration in this critical time. They are asking the World to join together and pray for President Obama and Vice President Biden during the first 100 days of office. You can receive a “Praying Through the First 100 Days” email in your inbox every morning starting today, which will help remind you to pray for the President each and every day. I signed up to receive this daily email and encourage you to do the same.
We have to come together and pray for our President and our country folks. This world is in rough shape and we have the answer. His name is Jesus. Please stand with me.
