Grabbing Your Destiny

We each have our own destiny. It’s very unique, like our fingerprints. The unfortunate thing is that for many of us we are unable to firmly grab a hold of our destiny because we are carrying to much baggage and don’t have an open hand. You can’t carry out your destiny with a bunch of trash in your hand.

Mrs Val from SuperKids Academy explained this best. She had a staff member come and pick up two chairs. One in each hand. The chairs represented baggage. Then she put a can of Pringles in front of the staff member and told him that that can was his destiny and to take hold of it. The only way he could grab his destiny (the Pringles) was to let go of the baggage (the chairs). We can’t hold our baggage and our destiny at the same time. Junk don’t mix with treasure. You have to get rid of the junk and pick up your destiny.

Some of us think we have the process down. We see our destiny. We set the baggage down. Pick up our destiny but before long we start picking the baggage back up which ends up forcing our destiny out of our hands. STOP!! Drop the baggage and grab hold of your destiny.

Your destiny was planned by God before we were even created and you will never be truly happy until you are living out your destiny. It’s in our DNA. It’s what God created us for.

We need to throw (cast) our baggage (cares) to God! The Word says to “cast your cares upon Him”. When you cast something what does that mean? Pastor Melva Henderson once said that whenever she thinks of the word “cast” she thinks of a fishing pole. You cast your bait and hook as far as you can. The key though is to cut the line after you cast it. Don’t reel it back in. It’s not for you to handle.

When Adam & Eve were created they didn’t have to deal with baggage. They didn’t have to deal with worrying about anything. We were never intended to have to deal with worry (baggage). Our bodies were not designed to deal with it. Adam & Eve were completely taken care of by God. The best part is God still wants to take care of us like He took care of Adam & Eve. CAST IT!! Quit trying to carry it! How can you reach the masses with loads of baggage weighing you down?

You might say “That’s easy for you to say”. NO, it’s not. It’s still something that I am working on myself. We get this thought (not our own) that we can’t put it down but we forget that our strength comes from God. The Word says the Joy of the Lord is your strength. CAST IT and fulfill you destiny!
